That's right, the long awaited next version of TAWP is wrapping up final development and testing and will be released in the next few weeks. For those of you who have not been keeping up with the new features to be released in version H, here is a sampling:

New GUIs for Arm and Core
New Omni towers, with
- Expanded shields (now including factories!)
- Upgradable Defenses
- Upgradable Fusions
- Extended LOS
- Extended Radar and Jamming

Mobile Shields via the Arm Mobile Command Vehicle (Arm only)
New Cyberoth texture (with all new True Walk Script by Zodius) and new Foundry built by
L3 builder (not the Commander)
New Core 'Modified' Implosion Device (built by Commander)
New Core Stratagic Carrier (a much better replacement to the former Nexus)
New Arm Command Sub (another replacement to the older Whale and Atlantis)
Vastly improved texturing and models for many L2 and L3 units
Major rebalance of hover, sea, and seaplanes vs each other and land units.

There is much more to come and below are previews of some of the new goodies already mentioned (with more goodies in the galleries if you have not seen previously!). Stay tuned!

Subject: Gallery Update | Posted by: Warl0rd | Date: 04/09/07

Another month begins for TAWP as we move into September and we have updated the Concepts gallery for some more concepts that you will most likely want to have a look at, and we have added the dazzling new H Beta Gallery for more pleasure to your eyes. No doubt these galleries will be updated in the future so check back soon for more eye candy!

Subject: New Omni Towers | Posted by: Wotan | Date: 28/08/07

After working with TRO on the Argus 'Project' (the new LOS tower shown at the Talon forums, it quickly became clear that this cool new concept could be extended beyond just LOS. With just a little tweaking, a host of new functions could be added to work with the new unit as well. On/Offable Shield Generators and Weapon Upgrade Centers, Hyper long range radar, sonar, and Jamming would also be possible - all from a single unit capable of turning these features simply on and off at will (but only one at a time and for a defined Energy cost). So in essence here is the new Omni Tower concept for TAWP (which mirrior in part what TRO is doing for Talon 1.0)

LOS - The Omni Tower will be able see (have direct LOS) within a very large radius - @3,000 pixel radius - note also that enemy cloaked units as well as units behind larger hills will remain out of LOS (whether or not your radar can detect said units).

RADAR
- The Omni Tower will detect units over a very large radius.

JAMMER
- The Omni Tower will prevent enemy players from detecting (via radar) your units within a very large radius

SHIELD - All Level 2 and 3 Defenses and Resources units within a radius of @1000 pixels from the Omni Tower will be shielded (given a significant armor boost with visible shield). Note the Omni tower can also be shielded.

ENERGY - All Fusion and Experimental Fusions within a radius of @1000 pixels from the Omni Tower will increase their output by an additional 50%. Note on the pic the increased Energy settings as well as the glowing charged lights on the fusions themselves

DEFENSE - All Level 2 and 3 Defensive weapons (except silo based weapons) within a radius of @1000 pixels from the Omni Tower will double their fire rate. The Intimidator has glowing lights on it sides to indicate that it can fire a shot every 4 seconds instead of 8

Subject: A new age dawns, a new enemy rises... | Posted by: Wotan | Date: 14/06/07

The Talon, a superb race from the genius of TRO is coming to TAWP to wreak havoc on the Arm and Core! Talon is by far the most complete, quaility race in the TA community and it with great pleasure (and with TRO's blessing) that we are able to bring them here.

Talon will match up quite nicely with Arm and Core's latest arsenal of Tier 3 weapons and will bring new and innovative methods of destruction as well. Some changes will need to take place before such a large race can be linked with TAWP, but all efforts to preserve exisiting TAWP (and Talon) gameplay will be taken.

Check out the gallery and stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new venture and prepare yourself for a whole new round of Total Annihilation!
